In the near future, I will begin putting some of my poetry on itch.io for sale. It might be a weird choice, but I'm a weird person so I think it fits.
I recently had the idea to make up a small sort of preview of some of my poetry. Maybe 10 or 12-ish poems, just so you can get an idea of my style and what you'd be getting into. I'd like it if people purchased my works when they come out, but I understand that taking a leap on a new author is risky and I also understand that not everyone jumps for joy at the thought of poetry. So I think I will work on this preview and have it up in the near future.
Incidentally, do any of you recall the name "24 over insomnia"? It was a collection of poetry that was on FictionPress (Fanfiction.net's sibling) years ago, but it got taken down because people kept plagiarizing it. I wish that I could go back and read it, because it was such a huge inspiration to me.
Once Yumi-chan is finally behind me (progress is slow but forward-moving) I will be focusing more on poetry for a while. The timeline in my head goes something like this:
1. Poetry preview (up sometime this week)
2. fractured starlight
3. A free poetry collection
4. A different not-free really dark poetry collection.
5. A collection of very sarcastic poetry. (Way way in the future.)
This isn't set in stone, but it's how I'd like it to go.
I'm also toying around with what visual novel idea I'd like to try for next. I have a few scripts kind of started but am not committed to one yet, and at least one of them will be too costly to produce for a while. We'll just have to wait and see.
I hope that was a sufficiently non-boring update. Go back to your life.

Yumi-chan: Script edits and guidebook
Just a brief update on the current status of Yumi-chan.
Been editing the script per advice of beta readers, and I wound up reworking a bigger chunk than I'd intended. Also started on the guidebook! It is probably laughably bad to someone who actually knows things about graphic design, but what can you do. It will include an interview with the artist Chiikaboom, lots of shiny pictures, and more!
I plan to purchase A Little Lily Princess and cover it as my next game review. Was planning to do the beta, but money has been really tight the past couple weeks. It's looking up now though! I had the privilege to participate in the alpha testing (I think that's the proper term) of A Little Lily Princess a while back and am interested to see how the game has progressed.
I've also been taking steps to get my poetry collection, fractured starlight, ready for publication. It will be the next project that comes out after Yumi-chan. It could not be more different than Yumi-chan. It will be commercial, but not very pricey. I'll probably do a little preview of it on Patreon once the time gets closer.
So, look forward to all of these things!

Development Update - Yumi-chan and poetry
NaNoReNo
Oh yeah, that first.
Two days left. Everyone scrambles. But it'll all be okay. :)
Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop
Once my obligations to NaNoReNo are finished, I plan to redouble my focus on coding Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop until it's complete. I've already learned the lesson of no firm dates unless I'm positive, sooooo no firm date.
Poetry
The more rambly bit. I recently got a new used laptop, pulling all my files from my old crusty dead laptop from a couple years ago. And on there was a whole mountain of bad fanfiction, bad poetry, venting documents about how shitty my life was, video game walkthroughs, and a bunch of other stuff accumulated throughout high school/my early young adult years. Most of it was pretty embarassing to read. But there are, surprisingly, some good bits still in there, and so in the near future I will face the task of wading through all of that to find the jewels.
I was most struck by my poetry portfolio. How I keep mine is, only the works that I feel are good enough to be published. Well...Let's just say that some of the stuff I used to think was good enough to be published...I may have been mistaken.
Will that poetry ever see the light of day? Who knows...?

Progress Report?
I really need to come up with a good name for development updates that doesn't sound weird or boring.
Anywho! I'm not normally up at this time of day and I'm tired as fuck, so here's a few quick updates.
Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop
CGs are almost done, with backgrounds to start next. Artist has hopes to get all the backgrounds done by mid-March, so we're tentatively looking at releasing in April. Emphasis on tentatively, though.
NaNoReNo
I've teamed up with some nice folks for NaNoReNo this year, though I will refrain from giving out details until later on.
Reviews
I've had a review almost done for days, but IRL stuff is getting in the way. Soooooooon.
Other
Fuck I'm tired all the time.
As an apology for how sad and bare this update feels, here is the title screen image for Yumi-chan.
For those who want to know more, I'm pretty active on Twitter, and if you pledge to me on Patreon, I post exclusive behind-the-scenes content on stuff I'm working on.
See you next time!

Year End - Heading Into 2016
Hello, folks. This is a condensed version of my Patreon post regarding the year's end and what plans for 2016 are.
I intended to have Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop done by now, but unexpected delays ended up making that impossible. Currently progress is being made and I am projecting release for spring 2016. I will keep you guys posted on how that goes.
I am working on other projects, and have decided the visual novel I'm going to be focusing on. I want to have my second visual novel out in 2016 as well, but I'm not sure how financially feasible that is. We'll have to see.
In closing, I thought that my first roughly-a-year of video game production went as swimmingly as it could for a newbie such as myself. I released three games, small though they were, and am actively working on others. I feel like I've gotten somewhere.
Thank you to all my followers. I appreciate your support.
Oh, and one last thing...
Yumi-chan's completed sprite! :)

Officially announcing "the last love song"
I tend to hold off on announcing projects until I have enough writing done that I know it's not just a one-off idea I had, and I can finish the project and not abandon it. Tonight I think I reached that point with the game I've been working on recently.
It will be called "the last love song" (yes I love my lack of capital letters, it's a habit). It's a tricky one to write because it's all about relationship difficulties and it's a bit of a personal subject. However, I hope to have it finished up in early December.
If you pledge any amount to me on Patreon, you can view a few preview images of the game in the posts section.
Also, the new artist for Yumi-chan should have some sprite sketches for me this week, so that's something to look forward to as well. Yay!

Updates both unexpected and not
I've been going back and forth on what to say in this development update. It's tricky to know what exactly to say sometimes. But, here we go.
For a long time, I've struggled with depression and anxiety. At the moment, I am officially diagnosed with persistent depressive disorder and social anxiety disorder. I suspect a few other things might be wrong, but confirmation on this would require going to an actual doctor and I'm having difficulty finding a provider that my insurance will accept.
Persistent depressive disorder is basically a fancy term for chronic depression. The symptoms are milder than that of major depressive disorder (which is probably the one you're more familiar with), but they're also longer-lasting. Social anxiety disorder is pretty self-explanatory; I get extremely anxious being around people and holding conversations, especially with people I don't know well. To make this even better, my day job is in customer service. It's hard sometimes, but I manage.
So the above problems, as well as a mixture of writer's block and good old-fashioned self-esteem issues, have really been getting me down lately. I feel like I haven't been doing enough. As far as Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop goes, I have essentially done all I can do until the artwork comes in, and it's not in yet and it won't be completed for a while. So I don't have a whole lot to offer right now, so I feel.
I thought I could fix the problem by focusing on writing other things, but ideas have been running slim. My output lately hasn't been at the level I want it at. And this only contributed to how badly I felt.
On the subject of Patreon: I know that I only have one Patron right now. But I take Patreon seriously and I want to treat it seriously, and so ideally I want to be continuously putting special things on there. But with the lack of content and the standstill I'm at in regards to Yumi-chan, I simply didn't have as much to give. And that, again, made me feel even worse. So I posed a question on Twitter, asking if perhaps I could start posting some other writings, like poems, as Patreon content in the meantime.
And here, everyone, is where the tone starts to lighten up, thanks to a couple of good people.
Naomi Norbez, my current Patron, answered the question by suggesting that since my Patreon is visual novel-focused rather than poetry-focused, that I could either change my Patreon characterization or make IF elements in the poems. And this got me thinking that maybe I should be trying to play to my strengths in poetry a bit more. So off I went to Twine to do some writing.
For the past couple days, I've been sitting in front of the computer, pretty much. Writing, thinking, writing. But today was a bit different. Today, the entries for IFComp 2015 were opened up for judging. I went through the list, and I started playing the game that sounded the most interesting to me: Nowhere Near Single by kaleidofish. I played it through, enjoyed it, and wrote a review of it just a few hours ago. And reading such a good story inspired me as well.
So I would like to happily announce that I'm putting the finishing touches on a Twine game called lucky me. I hope to have it completely ready within the next few days. It is not long and it is probably not a masterpiece. But goddamn it, it is a game and I am going to publish it. For all of you.
A million thanks to Naomi Norbez and kaleidofish for helping me. A million other thanks to everyone who's been following me so far. I hope to continue being of interest to everyone.

General Development Update, the sixth?
I recently realized that numbering these wasn't so appealing to me. But eh, who knows.
Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop
Development is going to be at about this stage for a while...I'm waiting for the artwork to come in, and in the meantime I'm having several people read through the script. Feedback so far has been positive, which is nice.
The Prince and the Wolf
Well, the artist hasn't contacted me in over two months, so I'm going to have to assume they've vanished into the ether or otherwise decided they hate me. I can't really afford to commission more than one artist at a time, so this game will likely have to be put on the backburner for now. In the meantime, I'll try to get the last bits of the script done and just focus on making the writing better, and once my funds are a bit more free (or I have more of them), I can start searching for another artist.
Mystery Commercial Title
In other news, I've begun doing some writing for what I hope will be my first commercial title! It's in the very early stages and I'd prefer to avoid giving details until I have more work done. All I will say is...lesbians.
Other Writings
I want to write more reviews and things, but I haven't really had time to play any new games lately; day job and all that. I thought about doing a top five visual novels list, but can't really decide on any besides The Royal Trap by Hanako Games.
Lack of Interesting News
I feel like I haven't had much to say lately, and I apologize for that. If you're interested in more constant yet also somewhat more inane content, follow me on Tumblr and Twitter, both of which I am pretty active on. The Facebook page is a bit more business-related, but likes there are appreciated too. And of course, if you want to show support, have a look at my Patreon page.
Thank you to the new followers, as well as the old ones. I will keep striving to bring you more and better things.

General Development Update #5
Sheets
I have added a download of the special edition of Sheets to the itch.io page. It includes the local .html file, the game's base poem in its original format, and a short page of production notes. There is also now an option to make a donation, although this is completely optional.
Read the game again on its freshly tinkered-with page here!
Also, if you enjoyed Sheets, please take a moment to rate it at its page on the Interactive Fiction Database.
Website
The website pretty much looks the way I want it for now. I added some newly necessary rules to the contact page; please read them before attempting to contact me.
Followers
I also wanted to say thanks to the new followers I've gained recently. Thank you for your support, and I hope to soon have a new game out to impress/astound you.

General Development Update #4
Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop
Writing progresses slowly.
IFComp 2015
I am entering IFComp 2015! For those who don't know, it's a yearly interactive fiction competition. I have until September 28 to write my marvelous game. I don't want to give away too much, but I'll probably eventually start teasing bits of it.
For more information on IFComp, visit their website.
Patreon
I now have a Patreon page! You are not under any obligation whatsoever to donate, but if you want to take a look, click here.
To close things out, a little Patreon promo image made by Black Rabbit Illustrations and edited by me:

General Development Update #3
The Prince and the Wolf
Writing has kind of slowed down on this one, to be honest. Both the artist and myself have been rather tied up with personal life stuff. I'm going to try to work on it more tonight, though.
The Tower
I've taken this one off the development list for now, as I'm not actively working on it at the moment.
Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop
This one kind of quietly crept into development, didn't it? The script is progressing nicely and I'll probably start recruitment for artwork and GUI soon. As for what it's about...Well, all I want to say for now is that it's a short kinetic novel about a man who meets a young cake shop owner and how his life changes from there. There will be lots of cake and cookies, probably.
Sheets
This is an interactive fiction game I made in Twine, and....it is ready for release! Just as soon as I work out hosting and get my actual website up to speed. Look forward to it!
Actual Website
The website is coming along all right; still needs some tinkering before I can officially unveil it, though.
So look forward to a text-based game, a website, and other fun things!

General Development Update #2
The Prince and the Wolf
More writing done today. I have reached out to someone to do the art for the game, but it's all in very early talks. The same person also created a free song that I have decided to use for the game's title theme song.
Other Games
I may have started my next game after The Prince and the Wolf...Not sure yet. It's a bit early to tell. Trying to keep myself focused on one thing at a time, though. :)
Website
I've also reached out to someone to give the blog a visual rework; more word on that when it comes around.
